Welcome to the Jeanine Schultz Memorial School website!

Our School is a dynamic, highly structured, special education treatment program which serves a wide range of emotionally disturbed, learning disabled, behaviorally disordered and autistic children from 3 to 21 years of age.

What We Do

   The school is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and approved by the Illinois State Board of Education; which entitles us to issue both eighth grade and high school diplomas.  The curriculum is individualized while reaching a diverse population of students through modified and adaptive programming.

   We provide a therapeutic milieu targeted at maintaining a safe, consistent environment enabling some of the most troubled students an opportunity to learn and grow.

Old Research is always Current...

Our Director, Dr. Joseph Zummo, recently completed an archival research study on past students who attended the Jeanine Schultz Memorial School.  The study concluded interesting information.

Highlights:

  • Our students demonstrate academic improvements, and;
  • psychological improvements.
  • Long term care for emotionally disturbed children proves most beneficial.
  • There is noted value in Milieu Therapy.

Dr. Zummo is always available to discuss his research findings and provide copies.
