Our History
The Jeanine Schultz Memorial School was founded in the fall of 1965 by parents and members of the community to address the needs of emotionally disturbed youngsters whom at the time were not included in public or private schools.
Our Vision
The vision of our school has always been to recognize the vast needs of youngsters who suffer from serious emotional and behavioral problems. Often difficulties seen are reflected in the child's intrapsychic behavioral conflicts. Conflicts resulting in an inability for adaptation to a regular school setting and thus requiring a highly specialized environment with multiple academic and clinical services offered by a high staff to student ratio.
Since 1965, we have accomplished this task. Our records reflect that over a thousand students and their families have benefited from our continually growing services.
Over the years our school expanded its services to include Learning Disabilities (LD), Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) and Autism as well as the continuum of the Social Emotional & Behavior Disordered (EBD) populations through psychotherapy (group and individual) speech therapy, psychiatry, social service, school nurse, nutritional components via our breakfast and lunch program, along with the continuous maintenance and renovation of our physical plant--a large school building, gymnasium, cafeteria and grounds.
